Al Hofmann began writing veteran's service stories in 2010 when he discovered a box of his parents memorabilia from 1940 through 1946.  His father.was traumatized by his experience and the loss of his best friends in WWII and rarely talked about it.  In his defense, his mother ordered  their children to never bring it up.  For sixty-five years, the story went untold and remained hidden in that box.  With intense research, he reconstructed that story in that box and knew  where his father was was every day in those six years. For the first time, he also understood the trauma.

With his new-found passion, eleven other stories followed for other veteran family members and friends.
